Amazon streamer Prime Video has commissioned Fear, a new UK original psychological thriller from Wild Mercury and Capricorn Productions.

Filming is already underway in Glasgow, Scotland, on the three-part series, which is based on the book by Dirk Kurbjuweit and will be available on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland in 2025.

The series follows Martyn (Martin Compston) and Rebecca (Anjli Mohindra), a couple who move into a beautiful house in Glasgow with their two young children. At first the new home seems idyllic, but when their neighbour Jan (Solly McLeod) makes unnerving comments to Rebecca it turns out to be the start of something far more intimidating.

Mick Ford (After The Flood, The Stranger) is writing the series, which will be directed by Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Shardlake).

Derek Wax and Frances Flannery are executive producing for Wild Mercury, the Banijay UK company that is also behind The Rig for Prime Video, as well as The Sixth Commandment for the BBC.

Suzanne Reid is exec producing for Capricorn Productions, alongside Ford and Chadwick, while the producer is Matt Brown. Banijay Rights is handling international distribution.

On the unscripted side, TBI recently exclusively revealed that Prime Video UK had enlisted three UK-based production companies to pitch new versions of The Grand Tour as the streamer looks to extend the show.
