Documentary feature Beyond The Aggressives: 25 Years Later, will make its streaming debut on Showtime and Paramount+ later this month.

Directed by Daniel Peddle, the film will launch on 30 March, and serves as a follow up to his 2005 title The Aggressives, with both coming to Showtime and Paramount+ subscribers with the Showtime plan on 5 March.

Beyond The Aggressives: 25 Years Later revisits four of the original subjects from the original documentary, centering transmasculine people of color who were assigned female at birth, enlightening viewers on what has transpired in their lives since the first film was made. Kisha, Trevon, Octavio and Chin are back, sharing an array of their triumphs and challenges including pursuing dreams in the arts, surviving the experience of being held in ICE detention, reuniting with estranged children, deciding whether to start families of their own, and seeking gender-affirming healthcare.

The launch of the films on the service coincides with International Transgender Day of Visibility on 31 March. Showtime is also collaborating with organisations including GLAAD, GLSEN and Trans Equity Consulting to launch an impact campaign that aims to expand conversations about identity, visibility, and other issues around trans and gender non-conforming people.

Beyond The Aggressives: 25 Years Later is produced by Wellington Love with executive producers Robert A. Maylor, Tiq Milan, Stephen Friedman, Jacqueline Woodson, Kristen Wolf and Gerald Herman. Director Peddle is also behind films including Sunset Edge and Moss and is in development on Rose Moon.
