Realscreen moves to Miami to run with NATPE Global

Realscreen Summit and NATPE Global will take place during the same week and at the same location next year, following a decision by Brunico Communications to bring the two US-based conferences together.

Canada-based Brunico said it was “responding to the strong market appetite for an all-encompassing must-attend event” that will see unscripted-skewing Realscreen, which took place in New Orleans this year, moving to the InterContinental Miami hotel alongside NATPE Global.

The events will take place 3-7 February, with each retaining its own agenda and programs but allowing attendees the option to participate in both markets. Pricing and ticket details have not yet been confirmed.

Realscreen Summit will kick off the week, followed by NATPE Global, with a mid-week crossover day bridging the two events.

Brunico said the move would “provide unmatched production and distribution deal-making opportunities to attendees of both events, make attendance and exhibition more efficient, and allow delegates to conduct a broader range of business in one trip.”

The events will be co-led by NATPE executive director Claire Macdonald, who will lead sales efforts as SVP of revenue at NATPE & Realscreen, while Realscreen EVP Mary Maddever will lead the content teams as executive content director for both events.

The first NATPE and Realscreen collaboration takes place 24-27 June at the InterContinental Budapest, where a Realscreen-branded format track will form part of the agenda.

The move follows the inaugural NATPE Global, which took place in Miami between 16-18 January. It was followed by Content Americas, which ran 21-23 January.

Brunico acquired NATPE Global (fka NATPE Miami) in 2023 after the National Association of Television Programming Executives (NATPE) filed for bankruptcy.

Russell Goldstein, president & CEO of Brunico, said: “In this challenging climate, clients and buyers alike have asked for a single market that meets the full scope of their business needs across their organisations. In response, we’re creating the most comprehensive North American-based content market available and an unbeatable value proposition.”

Maddever added: “Realscreen is known for its unparalleled curated networking and pitch experiences, which align perfectly with NATPE’s focus on creating a vital cross-industry space for cultivating domestic and international business relationships.”

Macdonald said the combined event would provide “an exceptional forum to maximize commercial opportunities on both the finished sales and commissioning ends of the spectrum.”
