Entertainment One (eOne) Canada has restructured its scripted and unscripted leadership, following its acquisition by Lionsgate in December, with Boat Rocker Studios’ Kerry Appleyard hired to head both divisions and long-time exec Tecca Crosby to depart.

Appleyard becomes SVP of scripted & unscripted and reports into eOne Canada TV president Jocelyn Hamilton.

She joins from the Orphan Black and Cavendish producer, where she was SVP and head of scripted for Canada. Appleyard exec produced both shows, as well as spin-off Orphan Black: Echoes, X Company, the recent Robyn Hood and oversaw space adventure series Killjoys.

As part of the restructure, which takes effect from 1 April, eOne Canada scripted EVP Tecca Crosby will be leaving the company after 12 years to “embark on a new chapter”.

During her time at the company, Crosby shepherded series including Private Eyes, Mary Kills People, Moonshine, Bitten and The Spencer Sisters.

“Tecca has been a great creative partner, a wonderful mentor to her team and an accomplished executive with a long track record of original, daring and successful scripted series,” said Hamilton.

The eOne Canada TV president added that Appleyard would offer “great creative instincts and strong talent relationships to our scripted and unscripted business as part of a reorganisation that will enhance our overall creative and business strategy.”

In addition to Appleyard’s appointment, Darren Giblin has been promoted to SVP of current and co-productions, reporting to Hamilton.

Andrew Kelly will meanwhile take on the role of VP of scripted development, with Scott Boyd and Christine Diakos serving as VPs of unscripted development, all reporting to Appleyard.

Isabel Gomez-Moriana will continue as director of scripted development and Jessica Liadsky will continue as development manager.
