The CW rolls dice on Scrabble & Trivial Pursuit game shows
The CW is developing a pair of game shows based on the popular board games Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit.
Both titles are in the works with Hasbro Entertainment and Lionsgate Alternative Entertainment, with Scrabble also being produced by Mattel Television Studios, according to US reports.
A Trivial Pursuit gameshow format was first announced as being in development at Entertainment One (eOne) back in 2021, before Lionsgate closed its $375m acquisition of the firm from Hasbro earlier this year.
At the time, Star Trek: The Next Generation actor LeVar Burton was attached to host and executive produce, alongside Tara Long and Geno McDermott from eOne and LeVar Burton Entertainment’s Sangita Patel.
No hosts or EP credits have been confirmed for either show for The CW, though US reports suggest an official announcement will be made shortly.
