Keshet International (KI) has secured worldwide distribution rights to Conflict, the political thriller ordered last year by C More/MTV in Finland.

The 6 x 60-minute show, which is from Backmann & Hoderhoff and XZY Films, is set on Midsummer’s Eve and follows a group of military conscripts who discover an unidentified enemy invading the picturesque Finnish peninsula.

With foreign nationals amongst 10,000 people held hostage in the occupied area, the US and other allies urge Finland’s newly elected president to take decisive action, creating the threat of a proxy war.

The series has been co-created and produced by Andrei Alén and Aku Louhimies, with Peter Franzén (Vikings), Dylan Smith (Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) and Nadia Forde (Once Upon A Time In London) among cast.

KI has secured format and tape rights, with the show set to be formally launched at the London TV Screenings next week.

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of distribution, added: “It has everything buyers and viewers want right now: a ripped-from-the-headlines plot; a fantastic international cast and script, which is English dominant in a Narcos-style way; thrilling action sequences; strong, relatable female lead characters; and a faceless ‘enemy’ who remains unknown throughout.”

Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, Maxime Cottay and Marci Wiseman are executive producers for XYZ.
