Viacom18’s Colors adapts ‘November Rain’, marking first continuing drama for BBCS India

Viacom18’s Colors network in India has partnered with BBC Studios (BBCS) on a scripted romantic thriller, marking the UK-based firm’s shift into continuing drama in the country.

Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak is from BBC Studios Productions India and has been inspired by the true story told in the the novel November Rain, written by Mrinal and Abhigyan Jha.

The series, which stars actors Karamm Rajpal and Trupti Mishra, chronicles a love story between a city-bred medical student and a resilient village girl who fall in love and attempt to make their relationship work.

Sameer Gogate, general manager of BBCS India, said the show “signifies an exciting chapter for BBC Studios Productions India, contributing to our collection of premium scripted dramas and breaking in to continuing drama.”

BBCS Productions India has been behind shows including School Of Lies for Disney+ Hotstar and Expressway Ishk for Amazon Mini TV, as well as the local version of Dancing With The Stars, which airs on Colors.
