Netflix has snagged US rights to Banijay format Temptation Island, following a five-season run on NBCUniversal’s USA Network.

The deal will see Banijay Studios North America remaking the format for the streamer, with the Netflix deal marking a third home for the show Stateside.

It debuted on Fox more than two decades ago and ran for three season before being rebooted for USA in 2019.

The show follows couples as they enter a tropical retreat where they must decide whether to remain committed to each other or partner up with other contestants.

Netflix has been ramping up its unscripted offering over recent years, with format remakes of shows including Red Arrow’s Love Is Blind. News of the Temptation Island pick-up was broken by US site Vulture.
