Netflix is merging Australian animation studio Animal Logic into its in-house structure, with its VP of animation film, Karen Toliver, to now head up teams in Sydney, Vancouver and LA.

As a result of the restructure, Animal Logic CEO Sharon Taylor is stepping down from the company, which Netflix acquired in 2022 in a move to produce more long-form animation, bringing more than 800 staff under its umbrella.

Animal Logic has worked with Netflix on titles including The Magician’s Elephant, Leo and The Shrinking Of The Treehorns, with the Sydney-based firm also behind animated features such as DC League Of Super-Pets and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.

Toliver joined Netflix in March 2022, having previously served as SVP of production at Sony Pictures, working on titles including Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and at Fox Animation, where she supervised production on the Rio films.
