2024 is set to be a pivotal year for the global content industry, so TBI has enlisted some of the biggest names in the business to share their thoughts on the major trends of the next 12 months and how they’re going to capitalise on them.

Here, Rob Wade, CEO of Fox Entertainment, talks IP ownership and co-productions.

What is the biggest growth area for your company this year?

Over the past several years, we’ve expanded our in-house production capabilities for greater ownership of IP in unscripted, animation and live-action scripted content. Early success of such shows as Next Level Chef, Krapopolis, Animal Control and Grimsburg (which is set to debut in the New Year) have given us momentum as we look to the new year.

What is the key trend going to be in 2024?

More openness to innovative co-productions both in the US and internationally. Companies that have primarily been reticent to third-party partnerships are increasingly seeing the value of working with other studios and platforms. The ultimate goal is a shared win.
