Dylan Massin has been appointed as EVP of production at Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Studios, with Adam Moos also promoted to SVP and head of production operations for the team.

Massin succeeds SPT veteran Ed Lammi in role, who retired at the end of December after 36 years with the company.

Reporting to SPT Studios president Katherine Pope, Massin will lead a team of more than 30 people, overseeing all physical production for the US scripted studio, including pre-production, budgeting, production, and post-production teams for development and active production slates.

Over the course of three decades, veteran producer Massin has worked on shows including The West Wing, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, Pushing Daisies, Parenthood, Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, Get Shorty, Good Girls, Your Honor, and Star Trek: Picard.

“Dylan is one of the most respected producers in the business, and I know he will bring his deep experience, his drive for perfection, and his leadership to our shows, our teams, our showrunners and our partners,” said Pope.

Moos, meanwhile, has been promoted to SVP of production and head of production operations for SPT Studios. Now reporting to Massin, in this expanded role he will manage all tech operations, budget estimating, and Beachwood Services, which provides production support and set rentals.

He originally joined SPT Studios in 2014 and has previously overseen physical production on series including The Boys and its spin-off Gen V, The Night Agent, For All Mankind, S.W.A.T., and upcoming titles such as Noir, Silk: Spider Society, God Of War, and Dark Matter.

Prior to SPT Studios, Moos was VP of physical production at Columbia Pictures where he worked on film titles including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Moneyball, The Equalizer, Zombieland and Eat, Pray, Love.

Both Massin and Moos begin their roles with immediate effect. Their appointments follow other recent moves, including Lauren Stein’s promotion to the newly created position of head of creative for SPT Studios and Andrew Plotkin’s appointment to replace her as EVP of drama development.
