BBC Studios appoints Jax Media UK boss as creative director for comedy

BBC Studios Comedy Productions has appointed Molly Seymour, who heads up the UK arm of Emily In Paris producer Jax Media, as creative director.

Seymour will take up the newly created role next month, reporting to head of comedy Josh Cole and working across a slate of scripted comedy and comedy-dramas at the BBC Studios division behind shows such as Inside No. 9 and Good Omens.

While at Jax Media, Seymour developed and produced Everyone Else Burns for Channel 4 in the UK and The CW in the US, as well as short-form series Peck’Eds for BBC Three.

“We’re delighted to be bringing someone of Molly’s skill, creativity, and dynamism to the team,” said Cole. “Molly has a fine comic mind, impeccable talent relationships and knows exactly how to nurture the next generation of comedy and comedy drama.”
