Marvel is working on a new animated Black Panther series for Disney+.

Titled Eyes Of Wakanda, and launching next year, the series will follow “brave warriors” from the technologically advancded African nation of Wakanda, who have “been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts”.

The show was announced by Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, TV and animation, Brad Winderbaum, during a sizzle reel from Marvel Animation Studios at the world premiere event for the second season of fellow Marvel animation and Disney+ series What If…?.

The late Chadwick Boseman portrayed the Black Panther, T’Challa, in several Marvel projects, including What If…? before the actor passed in 2020, with last year’s feature film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever dealing with the aftermath of his character’s demise, rather than recast the role.
