WildBrain preps Degrassi doc
Kids producer WildBrain has started produciton on a three-hour docuseries exploring renowned Canadian television series, Degrassi.
The as-yet-untitled documentary series is being produced in partnership with Peacock Alley and features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.
It will dive into Degrassi lore and the teenage experience with its creators, cast, crew and fans, as well as filmmakers influenced by the franchise’s 40-year legacy.
The show has been commissioned by WildBrain Television, is directed by Lisa Rideout (This is Pop) and is executive produced by Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts and Angela Boudreault, for WildBrain, and by Carrie Mudd for Peacock Alley.
Sky NZ, Prime Video add Abacus shows
Prime Video in the UK and Sky in New Zealand are among companies to have picked up factual content produced by Peninsula Television, following deals with sales firm Abacus Media Rights.
The deals include The Heiress And The Heist, which has been pre-sold to Sundance Now (US) and RTE (Ireland).
Deals have also been struck with aforementioned Prime Video UK and Sky New Zealand, as well as Digital Store in the US, Canada, Australia and India, Intervision for Greece and Greek-speaking Cyprus and CEE operator Pickbox.
Other sales include Confessions Of A Crime Boss sold to Prime Video UK, along with Scissor Sisters.
Fox preps MASH doc
Fox is preparing to launch a two-hour special exploring vetran veteran comedy M*A*S*H.
M*A*S*H: The Comedy That Changed Television debuts 1 January and explores the men and women who made the show as they celebrate one of the most enduringly popular comedies.
The show is directed by John Scheinfeld, with Scheinfeld and Andy Kaplan as executive producers.
The M*A*S*H two-and-a-half-hour series finale that first aired on CBS in 1983 remains the highest rated telecast in television history and has never left the air in the US, continuously running in syndication, on basic cable and now streaming on Hulu. The series was produced by 20th Television.
