‘Leverage: Redemption’ moves to Prime Video with S3 renewal

Amazon MGM Studios has renewed the heist-drama series Leverage: Redemption for a third season, with the show also moving to SVOD Prime Video from AVOD Freevee.

The series, produced by Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, is also bringing John Rogers on as showrunner and executive producer for the new season.

The Leverage spin-off follows a Robin Hood-esque team of criminals as they stage elaborate cons against corrupt and powerful individuals on behalf of clients who have been wronged. Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, Aldis Hodge, Noah Wyle, and Aleyse Shannon star.

Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD, unscripted and targeted programming, Amazon MGM Studios, said: “As we embark on our next chapter, we are thrilled to be able to share the show with our Prime customers and continue to offer the exclusive Leverage FAST channel to our Freevee customers.”

Netflix enters ‘Ransom Canyon’

Netflix has ordered Ransom Canyon, a new drama series set in Texas and starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly.

The 10 x 60-minute series hails from creator, writer and exec producer April Blair, and is a family drama and contemporary western saga that charts the intersecting lives of three ranching families, all set against the rugged expanse of Texas Hill Country.

Apple TV+ renews ‘Foundation’

Apple TV+ has renewed sci-fi series Foundation for a third season.

Hailing from David S. Goyer, produced by Skydance Television, and starring Lee Pace and Jared Harris, the third season will expand the adaption of Isaac Asimov’s literary stories.

“I’m thrilled Apple has given us the opportunity to continue chronicling Asimov’s pioneering galactic saga. This time, the stakes for Foundation and Empire are even higher as the Mule takes center stage, along with fan-favorites Bayta, Toran, Ebling, and Magnifico Giganticus,” said showrunner and executive producer Goyer.

Max returns ‘Fionna And Cake’ for S2

Warner Bros. Discovery streamer Max has renewed animated series Adventure Time: Fionna And Cake for a second season.

The Adventure Time spin-off is set in the land of Ooo and follows the alternate universe versions of Finn and Jake on a multiverse-hopping journey towards self-discovery.
