SkyShowtime adds dramas ‘Veronika’ & ‘The Tattooist Of Auschwitz’
Comcast and Paramount’s European streamer SkyShowtime has unveiled new original and exclusive content heading to the service in 2024.
The announcement was made by SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan and CCO Kai Finke at Content London this week, with titles including Veronika, a Swedish crime thriller “with a paranormal flavour” starring Alexandra Rapaport and Tobias Santelmann.
The eight-part series is created and scripted by Katja Juras and Anna Lindblom and helmed by director Jonas Alexander Arnby. The series was acquired from Viaplay Content Distribution and will be available to stream exclusively across all SkyShowtime markets next year.
Sky production The Tattooist Of Auschwitz, will also be coming to the streamer next year and will be branded a ‘SkyShowtime Original’. It will be exclusive in “most” of its markets, including Albania, Andorra, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden.
The limited event series is based on the bestselling novel by Heather Morris, and stars Jonah Hauer-King and Anna Próchniak. Tali Shalom-Ezer directs all six episodes.
Additionally, SkyShowtime has acquired the exclusive first pay window for Polish feature film Kos (Scarborn), which will be branded as a ‘SkyShowtime Exclusive’. The historical action-drama will be available to subscribers in Poland and becomes the first SkyShowtime exclusive film available to stream in the market.
SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan said: “In addition to offering the best from Hollywood – including the critically-acclaimed SkyShowtime Original series The Curse and big box office hits such as Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One – we also offer local programming that resonates with audiences in our markets.
“Our new original series Veronika, as well as the critically acclaimed Polish film Kos, demonstrate our commitment to providing great entertainment and value to our members.”
