Finland’s MTV3 joins Endemol Shine Australia’s dating format ‘Love Triangle’
MTV3 in Finland has become the third company to remake Australian reality format Love Triangle.
The show will be known locally as Kolmiodraama and is being produced by Banijay Finland.
Love Triangle, which was created by Banijay’s EndemolShine Australia in conjunction with Nine Network, sees a singleton communicating with two potential partners through text messages and calls.
They then pick one of the partners and move in together, with their bond tested when the third partner is re-introduced to the show halfway through the season.
Love Triangle is currently airing its second season on Australian streaming service Stan, following a successful first launch. Banijay’s UK prodco Workerbee TV is adapting the format for E4.
Tatu Ferchen, CEO Banijay Finland, said the format “perfectly addresses modern dating dilemmas fuelled by endless choices on apps and preconceived ideas of what your soulmate will look like.”
Lucas Green, chief content officer of operations at Banijay, added: “Love Triangle is testament to the creativity and skill of the EndemolShine Australia team in crafting attention-grabbing reality television which global audiences love. We can’t wait to see the local spin added to the Finnish and UK versions, as Love Triangle travels around the world.”
Banijay Finland is behind local versions of shows including Survivor, The Best Singers and Temptation Island.
