NBC orders brain drama ‘Dr Wolf’ from Berlanti Productions, Bastin’s Fabel & Serkis’ Imaginarium
NBC in the US has ordered a drama tracking the life of neurologist Oliver Sacks and his work on mental health and the human mind.
Dr Wolf is being produced by Berlanti Productions, Henrik Bastin’s Fabel Entertainment and Andy Serkis’ The Imaginarium, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.
It is inspired by the books The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat and An Anthropologist On Mars, which were both written by Sacks, who died in 2015.
The show will track the revolutionary UK-born neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the human mind, while also grappling with their own relationships.
Michael Grassi is attached to write with Lee Toland Krieger directing, while exec producers include Greg Berlanti, Bastin, Melissa Aouate and Serkis.
Zachary Quinto, Tamberla Perry and Ashleigh LaThrop are among cast.
