Sky, C4, A+E, CBS & UKTV close BossaNova UK factual deals
UK broadcasters Sky, Channel 4, A+E, CBS and UKTV have picked up a range of factual content following deals with distributor BossaNova Media.
Sky UK has acquired four BossaNova series, including season five of Worldmark Films’ Caught on Dashcam; Greenstone TV’s Highway Cops; and two titles from Greenstone’s evergreen Patrol franchise: Highway Patrol and Motorway Patrol.
Channel 4 has picked up two titles from BossaNova’s history slate: AMS Pictures’ Hindenburg: The Cover-Up; and Go Button Media’s Castle Secrets.
A+E Networks’ UK service has picked up Mysteries of the Ancient Dead from Go Button Media, as well as the second season of Content Kings’ Secrets of The Lost Liners.
CBS, meanwhile, has licensed Homicide with Ron Iddles, originally produced by CJZ for Channel 7 Australia, while UKTV has acquired season four of Stampede Productions’ Borderforce USA: The Bridges.
Holly Cowdery, head of sales at BossaNova, said: “Five deals with five major UK broadcasters — undoubtedly among the most discerning in the world — is a great start to our MIPCOM 2023 campaign and a promising sign of business to come.”
