BBC Studios rejigs EMEA sales team with new SVP roles across factual & scripted

Rebecca Ransley & Chris Kinsman

BBC Studios (BBCS) has upped Chris Kinsman and Rebecca Ransley to newly created SVP positions across factual and scripted sales.

Kinsman becomes SVP of factual within BBCS’s content sales team for EMEA, while Ransley takes the equivalent role in scripted, both reporting into Nick Percy, who was appointed president of global markets 18 months ago.

The duo will lead the teams responsible for co-production and finished tape sales across all EMEA markets, setting sales strategy and directing co-production and content financing opportunities for their respective genres.

Kinsman has been at BBCS for almost two decades, initially working across sales and co-productions in France and content sales in Italy and Iberia, before leading the Western Europe content sales team for factual.

Ransley has been with the UK pubcaster’s commercial arm for more than a decade, leading sales teams across multiple EMEA markets and beofre that wokring in production for the BBC and its Panorama.

Percy said: “Both Chris and Rebecca bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their new roles which have been created to reflect the evolving needs of our business. With these promotions I am delighted to be able to recognise the quality of their leadership and the strength and expertise of our sales teams.”

Kinsman added: “For a number of years Rebecca and I have worked alongside each other, so we’re delighted to be jointly leading the integrated EMEA sales team with these new roles and we’re looking forward to unlocking further opportunities for our world class factual and scripted programming.”

Ransley continued: “With BBC Studios’ ambitious growth plans and growing pipeline it’s the perfect time to have refreshed our team structure in line with the company’s objectives allowing closer and richer conversations with our partners.”

The appointments come two weeks before MIPCOM, with BBCS’s slate including Mammals, The Famous Five, Truelove and Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution., and The Unique Boutique.
