Amazon plans ‘Hell Of A Date’ for Prime Video Sweden
Amazon streamer Prime Video in Sweden has ordered Hell Of A Date (working title), a new scripted series set in the world of media and politics.
The series is produced by Nordisk Films-owned Drive Studios and written by Milad Avaz, Jacob Katz Hansen and Anna Neye. Maj-Britt Landin serves as executive producer and Christian Potalivo as producer.
Directed by the Danish director Milad Avaz and starring Hanna Alström (Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Crown) and Erik ‘Jerka’ Johansson (Behind Blue Skies, Bonus Family), the series is currently filming in Stockholm and is expected to debut in 2024.
In the series, Sweden faces primitive power outages and ominous predictions about the coming winter. Reluctantly, the widowed Arthur (Erik Johansson) gets recruited to help his colleague, star journalist Cristina (Nina Zanjani), who dares to question the mainstream narrative. Feeling cornered by the police and other powers, Arthur becomes Cristina’s partner-in-crime, in the craziest, most hazardous day of his life. The only problem is that Arthur has a date with Mille (Hanna Alström). And as not to arouse any suspicion, the date must go on as planned.
Amazon said that the series explores “how we humans embrace change,” with the show joining other local original series such as Bingo & Julia, Parneviks All In!, Ägd av Danny and Good Luck Guys.
