South Korean giant CJ ENM has named Elsie Choi, the former development chief of Red Arrow and Kari Skogland’s Mad Rabbit, as its EVP & head of scripted in the US.

Choi is based out of LA and will lead CJ ENM America’s strategy to expand its global programming slate, with responsibility across development and production of original series.

She will serve as the creative point of contact for CJ ENM and its global subsidiary/affiliate content studios in the US, which include Fifth Season and ENM Studios, as well as remaking shows based on the company’s formats.

Choi begins immediately and will report directly to CJ ENM America’s president of US scripted, Angela Killoren, who said the hire “reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional content that resonates with diverse audiences around the world.”

Killoren added: “With her impressive track record championing underrepresented voices and stories, Elsie is an exceptional addition to our leadership team. We look forward to supercharging the breadth of innovative projects that CJ is known for bringing to audiences around the world.”

Choi was most recently a non-writing executive producer on Hulu’s upcoming series Interior Chinatown, having previously been head of cable/streaming TV for Rideback and SVP of development for Mad Rabbit.

She started her media career in films by leading development for Willis Brothers Films, Bruce Willis’ production company.
