Global Screen recruits Bavaria Media’s Brianne Bonney as Julia Weber departs
German content group Telepool has recruited Bavaria Media’s Brianne Bonney as head of TV sales at its distribution outfit Global Screen, with Julia Weber, head of sales and acquisitions, exiting the company.
Weber said that she is leaving the company “to take on new challenges,” with Yoko Higuchi-Zitzmann, who was appointed as CEO at Telepool in January, praising Weber’s “outstanding commitment” to the group.
Bonney will join the Westbrook-owned company as head of TV sales on 1 November, arriving from her role as senior sales manager at Bavaria Media, where she has worked for more than six years.
Based in Munich, Bonney will lead the Global Screen TV distribution team and also directly spearhead TV sales, particularly to English speaking territories such as the UK, USA and Canada. Bonney has previously held senior sales positions at Red Arrow International and Turkey’s Global Agency.
Higuchi-Zitzmann commented: “Our focus here is on growing international series and formats in both acquisition and sales. In addition to the large international network that Brianne brings with her through leading roles in top international distribution companies, she will make the new business unit more dynamic and expand formats and remakes.”
In addition to Bonney, Klaus Rasmussen will continue to expand the feature film division and Ulrike Schröder is responsible for content acquisition.
Global Screen’s catalogue includes spy drama Davos 1917, documentary Munich ’72, crime series Seaside Crimes and black comedy film The Undertaker.
