European Writers Club hires Danish Film Institute alum Noemi Ferrer
The European Writers Club (EWC) has hired Noemi Ferrer, the former head of international at The Danish Film Institute, to work across its expanding slate of initiatives targeting greater collaboration on scripted series.
Ferrer, who was previously executive director at Denmark’s DR Sales, will assist EWC director Thomas Gammeltoft in expanding the organisation’s network and extending its focus on co-creation of European scripted TV shows.
She will also work with programme coordinator Nina Voit in managing sessions and fostering new initiatives from the EWC.
The EWC brings writers, producers and broadcasters together to co-create and collaborate on European scripted shows, with a focus on boosting creativity and originality in development that will help them travel across the continent and globally.
Its Boosting Impact scheme has been recently extended into a second year with support from the European Union, among others
Ferrer said: “It has never been more important to join forces and develop meaningful stories with a strong European DNA. EWC assembles some of the most renowned European development specialists, writers, producers and broadcasters, and currently constitutes the most exciting innovative program for scripted TV-series in Europe.”
