Federation’s ‘Bardot’ travels across Europe with AMC Iberia, TVP & Nova among deals
AMC Iberia in Spain, TVP in Poland and Nova in Greece are among companies to have snagged rights to Federation drama Bardot, which tracks the iconic star before she became a household name.
The show was produced by Federation Entertainment & G-Films for France 2 and Mediaset in Italy, debuting in May. Netflix subsequently launched the series in France, as well as Germany, Benelux and Switzerland, in late August.
Federation has now confirmed additional sales, with MTVA in Hungary, RTVS in Slovaquia, LTV and Tet+ in Latvia taking the show.
ERR has rights in Estonia and Finch Media has been named distributor for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
Negotiations are underway in other European and English-speaking countries, Federation added.
Bardot was created and directed by Danièle Thompson and Christopher Thompson, with Pascal Breton and Judith Rochelois producing for France Televisions and Mediaset. Julia de Nunez led the cast on the show, which is not to be confused with a doc of the same name being sold by Fremantle.
Federation has already sold the drama to Turkey (Turkcell), Sweden (SVT), Finland (YLE), Norway (NRK), Portugal (NRK), Czech Republic (Czech TB) and Canada (CBC + Radio Canada).
The show gets its US premiere at the American French Film festival (TAFFF) in LA this October.
