Solange Attwood is stepping down as EVP of Blue Ant International, the sales arm of Canada’s Blue Ant Media, after almost a decade with the company.

Revealing her exit on social media, Attwood teased that she would soon be starting a new, more creative-focused role. She wrote: “After a decade long tenure building a globally recognized and profitable distribution business, I have decided to leave Blue Ant to get closer to the creative centre of our industry.

“For those of you who know me, there is a plan, so stay tuned for more news to come. There is much to celebrate at Blue Ant – go BAMily go!”

Attwood joined the Toronto-based Blue Ant International in 2014, overseeing the strategic direction of Blue Ant Media’s worldwide distribution arm. She spearheaded and managed co-productions for the sales division, pre-sales and worldwide sales activities while leading the business’ ongoing expansion and sales offices in Toronto (Canada), London (UK), and Los Angeles (USA).

Under her leadership, the division built a slate of 3,500 hours of award-winning content across its tent-pole categories: Factual Entertainment, Kids & Family, Specialist Factual, Scripted & Digital Studios and High Impact Documentaries, including titles such as scripted live-action series Detention Adventure, documentaries such as Prince Charles’ Green Grand Design and The Ocean’s Greatest Feast and long running franchise See No Evil.

Prior to that, she served as VP of international sales and development at Si Entertainment, where she headed up the development and launch of the company’s distribution arm, spent four years as manager of acquisitions and international sales at Tricon Films & Television.
