Amazon Prime Video adds former Canal+, France TV exec’s streaming channel in US
Amazon Prime Video in the US has added a streaming channel launched by former Canal+ and France Televisions exec Julien Verley to its line-up.
France Channel offers shows that celebrate the French lifestyle, history and culture, with original series, films and documentaries available across topics ranging from the arts, travel, fashion, food and wine, as well as children’s programming.
Among its titles are daily series Tomorrow Is Ours, drama series Chefs and film Dr. Knock.
France Channel is priced at $7.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial.
The French-focused service was founded and developed by Julien Verley, who was CFO at Canal+ and led commercial activities at France Television.
Verley said: “Our assertion is that with the France Channel platform, many Americans will use it as an online discovery tool that serves as an alternative to physically traveling to France, but immersing oneself in the beauty of French Cinema and lifestyle.”
