Paramount promotes Darío Turovelzky to oversee Lat Am broadcast & studios

Uno Para Morir

Paramount Global has promoted Darío Turovelzky to EVP of broadcast and studios for Latin America.

Turovelzky, who was previously SVP of broadcast and studios, is the former GM of ViacomCBS South Cone, who joined in 2021 to lead Argentinean FTA network Telefe and Chilevision, following its acquisition by ViacomCBS International from WarnerMedia.

In his new expanded remit, Turovelzky will now also oversee Paramount’s FTA networks and operations in Latin America, as well as Spanish and Portuguese language originals for Paramount Television International Studios, which launched in May.

The studio has produced titles in Latin America such as the film Uno Para Morir in Mexico and is working on the Brazilian biopic Anderson Spider Silva, while yesterday we reported that it had shuttered its production operations in Spain.

Turovelzky will report to Maria Kyriacou, president of broadcast and studios and international markets at Paramount Global, and will work alongside José Calderoni, SVP of streaming for Latin America, and Eduardo Lebrija, EVP, regional leader and chief commercial officer for Latin America at Paramount Global.

“Dario is an incredibly strategic leader and his promotion is recognition of the role he has played in driving the success of our broadcast television business in Latin America and now, furthermore, his leadership of our international studios business in the region.

“I am delighted to work with him on this expansion of his role as we continue to harness the power of our international content to grow our global scale as a company,” said Kyriacou.
