Netflix to end longest-running non-kids show ‘Big Mouth’ & spin-off ‘Human Resources’

Big Mouth

Netflix has ordered an eighth and final season of adult animated sitcom Big Mouth, with spin-off Human Resources also to come to an end with its upcoming second season.

The commission will make Big Mouth the longest-running non-kids series in Netflix history – with characters and stories from Human Resources also set to move across and be resolved in the final season of the parent show.

Big Mouth, which debuted its sixth season in October last year, follows a group of seventh grader school children as they come to terms with puberty, while Human Resources is set in the workplace of the ‘hormone monsters’ depicted in the original show.

Brutus Pink, the production company set up by show creators Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett, will continue to write and produce new animated projects for Netflix under their recently renewed overall content deal.

“Big Mouth is a towering achievement in animated comedy that will make Netflix history for its longevity,” said Billy Wee, Netflix director of adult animation. “We are thrilled that we still have two more hilarious seasons to share with fans before this brilliant coming of age story reaches its conclusion.”
