A Spy Among Friends

ITV Studios creative director Patrick Spence is exiting the company next week after more than three years.

A spokesperson for ITV Studios told TBI that Spence would exit at the end of March for a soon-to-be-confirmed new venture, but would continue to partner with the company on upcoming projects including Mr Bates vs The Post Office and an as-yet unnannounced new show for streaming service ITVX.

Spence set up a scripted studio at the company in December 2019 with the aim of developing and producing premium drama for the UK and international markets.

During his time there, he has served as the executive producer on the ITVX & MGM+ thriller series A Spy Among Friends, starring Guy Pearce and Damian Lewis, as well as the fact-based David Tennant-led drama Litvinenko.

The exec arrived at ITV Studios from Fifty Fathoms Productions, which he set up in 2010, and where he served as managing director for more than nine years. The drama label was part of the Endemol Shine Group prior to its acquisition by Banijay.

Spence also served as director of drama for Tiger Aspect.

His executive producer credits include Fortitude for Sky Atlantic; MarvellousThe A WordFive Minutes of Heaven and Silent Witness for the BBC; Adult Material for Channel 4 and The Eddy for Netflix.
