Swixer, the Swedish production services company that has credits on shows including Normal People and Earthshot, has promoted Helen Spokojny to head of production.

Spokojny is a TV producer with experience working across a range of genres, including documentary and reality formats, and news content. She also brings a knowledge of commercial, corporate and advertising media production to the role.

She takes on her elevated position at the Stockholm-based firm to help boost Swixer’s portfolio in TV and film, which ranges from BBC drama Normal People, to Netflix architecture series Abstract: The Art Of Design and Prince William’s documentary Earthshot.

Spokojny’s promotion comes just a few months after Giulio Musi joined the company to help support its scripted expansion as executive producer of drama & commercials.

Fatima Lagerås, CEO and founder of Swixer, said: “Helen is the perfect fit for this position and is integral for the growth of Swixer. We are lucky to have her now as head of production, not only for her skills as a producer, but her ability to lead and motivate a team, along with her existing knowledge of the company and business mindset.”

Spokojny added: “I’m excited to take on this new role at Swixer, which allows me to work even closer with the brilliant team and support CEO Fatima, as we continue to develop the business.”

Swixer was founded in 2012 by producer Lagerås, following a request from Morgan Freeman’s production company Revelations Entertainment in LA. It has productions running in Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, the UK, Portugal, Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands. Further growth is expected after the Swedish government confirmed a tax credit scheme for local film production.
