Exclusive: Swedish prodco Swixer hires Giulio Musi to support scripted expansion

Swixer, the Swedish outfit that has credits on shows including Normal People and Earthshot, has hired producer Giulio Musi to work across its scripted expansion.

Musi becomes executive producer of drama & commercials at the Stockholm-based production firm and will work with production companies and agencies looking for services throughout Europe.

The film producer and commercial director is behind upcoming feature Humanization (Förmänskligas), which debuts 27 January, and was a script-reader for Sundance’s feature film division.

Musi joins to expand Swixer’s portfolio in TV and film, which ranges from BBC drama Normal People, to Netflix architecture series Abstract: The Art Of Design and Prince William’s documentary Earthshot.

Fatima Lagerås, CEO & founder of Swixer, told TBI: “Giulio’s hire marks our ambition to grow our slate of productions and shows the world why they should produce in our countries of expertise. Swixer was founded in 2012 by producer Lagerås, following a request from Morgan Freeman’s production company Revelations Entertainment in LA. It has productions running in Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, the UK, Portugal, Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands. Further growth is expected after the Swedish government confirmed a tax credit scheme for local film production.
