Discovery in Norway orders celebrity version of Belgium’s ’99 To Beat’
Discovery in Norway has followed the lead of its Swedish counterpart and ordered a local version of Belgian format 99 To Beat.
The 10 x 44-minute Norwegian show, to be known as Sistemann Ut, will be a celebrity version that is being produced by Nexiko, which also produced the Swedish series that launched on Discovery in Sweden last autumn.
Norway’s show will launch this spring and will become the seventh remake, following The Netherlands (SBS), Germany (Sat.1), Poland (TTV/Discovery), Sweden (Discovery), Belgium (VRT).
Broadcaster Canal Vie in Vietnam is also lining up its own show for later in the year, while Primitives – the Belgium distributor – has also sold rights to producers in the UK, Australia, Spain and Italy.
The studio-based format sees 100 people compete in 99 everyday challenges with one elimination per challenge. The contestants don’t have to be the smartest of the fastest, they just can’t come last, with the final person standing having to beat the other 99 contestants.
