‘The Pact’ prodco Little Door recruits BBC & Playground execs
Little Door Productions, the Welsh firm behind BBC drama The Pact, is expanding its team with the appointment of Playground Entertainment’s Bethan Jones and BBC exec Beth Grant.
Jones arrives at the Cardiff-based company as executive producer from Playground Entertainment, which she joined as executive creative director in 2019.
During her time there, she executive produced Dangerous Liaisons for Starz/Lionsgate, while other previous credits include Hartswood’s Sherlock, War and Peace, Aberfan: The Green Hollow, Baker Boys, Pobol Y Cwm, Merlin, A Poet in New York, Under Milk Wood and Les Miserables with BBC Wales Drama and Lookout Point.
She also previously worked at Cuba Pictures and will remain co-creative director of Red Seam, the Welsh company she co-founded in 2019, and where she will continue to develop their projects with Little Door’s support.
Grant meanwhile joins the Little Door team as development executive, arriving from the BBC where during the last four years she has held roles including development producer for BBC Writersroom Wales and both story editor and script editor on Casualty for BBC Studios. Before her time at the BBC, Grant held roles with Tidy Productions and Newman Street.
Elwen Rowlands and Hayley Manning, who co-founded Little Door in 2019, said: “When we founded Little Door Productions, we had a clear vision to build a creative and talented team that shared our values to produce stimulating drama with a twist and a Welsh flavour.
“To welcome Bethan and Beth to the team is fantastic – they are both hugely respected in their disciplines and their wealth of experience will undoubtedly be etched in the future foundations of our television slate.”
Rowlands, co-founder and CEO of Little Door, spoke to TBI last month about the recently launched second season of The Pact and why it returned as an anthology series.
