US-based FAST operator Invincible acquires broadcast & cablenet YTA Broadcast Network
Invincible Entertainment Partners, a US-based production and distribution company, and FAST channel operator, has acquired the YTA Broadcast Network.
Invincible operates 18 FAST channels including The Sonic Channel, Cinepride, Frightflix, Slopes TV, and Business Rockstars – whose co-founder, Deadliest Catch producer Thom Beers joined Invincible when it bought the service for $20m in 2020.
As part of the deal, Beers will add his personal behind-the-scenes perspective to his shows, which also include Storage Wars and Monster Garage, to give audiences “a whole new perspective on what they didn’t see on the first time around.” These enhanced programs will be part of the YTA programming lineup in the coming months.
YTA, meanwhile. is a US linear network that broadcasts original programming covering topics encompassing talk, sports, cooking, news, movies and comedy. It launched as the Nostalgia Channel on cable in 1985 and has since changed names and hands a number of times, but today reaches about 41 million homes via over-the-air affiliates and cable carriage.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Adding traditional broadcast to our channel offerings diversifies our portfolio and expands advertising opportunities for our brand partners,” said Thomas Ashley, CEO at Invincible. “We look forward to bringing a fresh lineup of programming to the network and expanding its distribution to cable and streaming TV providers.”
“Invincible is a clear leader in FAST streaming TV and tech. Combine that with their very deep content library and longstanding relationships with distributors – and we felt this was a terrific opportunity for us to take the YTA Network to the next level,” said Scott Miller, YTA CEO.
