News round-up: Fox renews ‘Krapopolis’; Vieira & Federation team for racism doc
Fox renews ‘Krapopolis’
Fox Entertainment has renewed animated comedy Krapopolis ahead of the series premiere next year.
The series, from Rick & Morty co-creator Dan Harmon, is produced by Bento Box Entertainment and set in mythical ancient Greece. It tells the story of a dysfunctional family of humans, gods and monsters that try their hand at running the world’s first cities – without trying to kill each other, that is.
“As you can imagine, anything Dan Harmon does is unflinchingly irreverent and filled with his signature, bold characters; and these early episodes of Krapopolis far surpass even our highest expectations,” said Michael Thorn, president of Entertainment, Fox Entertainment.
Vieira & Federation team for racism doc
SlugNews & Federation Studios are co-producing Patrick Vieira – Off The Bench, a social-impact feature documentary on racism in football.
Marina Ladous, Jean-Baptiste Renaud, Lorenzo Benedetti and Patrick Vieira (SlugNews) have teamed up with Myriam Weil (Federation Studios) to develop and produce the 1 x 90-minute documentary, which will soon begin shooting in the UK and France.
In Off The Bench, Vieira goes public to engage in the fight of his life: denouncing systemic racism in his beloved sport soccer, and beyond.
“In 2022, black players continue to be insulted on the field and on social media. There are only two black coaches in first division on the entire European continent including me! How can we change this?,” commented Vieira.
