Paramount Television Studios has appointed a former Apple TV+ and Sony Pictures Television exec as SVP of its current TV output.

Kim Rozenfeld will lead on all scripted projects for the TV studio and streamer Paramount+, reporting to the Cheryl Bosnak, EVP & head of current for Paramount TV Studios and Paramount+.

The veteran joins having most recently been running his label Half Full Studios, which had a first-look deal with Apple TV+ that included docuseries, Home. He was behind Watch The Sound with music producer Mark Ronson.

Prior to that, Rozenfeld had led current programming and unscripted development for Apple TV+ ahead of the streamer’s launch.

He left in 2019 after a restructure at Apple, when studio chiefs Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht brought development and current programming into a single entity.

Apple’s head of scripted development Matt Cherniss, who joined from WGN America in 2017, took on current scripted series.

Prior to that, Rozenfeld had been EVP of scripted at Sony Pictures Television, which he joined in 2011. He worked on hits including Better Call Saul and Outlander, and before that had a stint at ABC Studios.

Bosnak said: “Kim brings with him an incredible wealth of experience, and he has a deep understanding of television in all its forms today. We are excited to have him across multiple projects.”

In related news, Paramount and MTV have renewed its overall deal with Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance’s Bassett Vance Productions. The company’s upcoming projects include feature film Heist 88.
