WBTVG inks overall deal with ‘Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson

Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) has signed an overall deal with Quinta Brunson, the creator, star and exec producer of ABC comedy Abbott Elementary.

The multiyear agreement, which is Brunson’s first overall pact with any studio, makes WBTVG her home for any new TV productions. She will create, develop, and produce original programming for all platforms, including HBO Max, external streaming platforms, cable channels, and the US broadcast networks.

Brunson will also continue to serve as the writer, star and exec producer on Abbott Elementary, which is produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with 20^th Televisio, and returns for its second season on ABC next month.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WBTVG chairman Channing Dungey said: “Quinta Brunson is a tour de force and a powerhouse talent, and we are beyond thrilled to be continuing our partnership with her through this new overall deal. What Quinta and her Abbott Elementary team have achieved in the first season is just extraordinary. We cannot wait for season two, and to explore many future projects with her in the coming years.”
