BBCS & ‘Stath Lets Flats’ star Demetriou strike creative pact

Stath Lets Flats

Stath Lets Flats writer and actor Jamie Demetriou has agreed a “creative partnership” with BBC Studios (BBCS).

The multi-year agreement will see Demetriou co-develop and co-produce new projects through his own label, People Day, and BBCS’s scripted portfolio. BBCS distributes Stath Lets Flats around the world, selling the show to the US, Canada and Australia.

Demetriou has also starred in Apple TV+ series The Afterparty earlier this year and feature in Hulu’s The Great and movies such as Netflix’s Eurovision. He was recently cast in Barbie, the upcoming live-action comedy.

Jonathan Blyth, director of commercial & partnerships for comedy at BBCS, said: “Jamie is one of the most gifted and sought after comics in the country. We’re thrilled that he has chosen to develop his next scripted projects with BBC Studios and that we will play an active role in bringing his creative ideas to life for domestic and international audiences.”

The deal was brokered by Kitty Laing at United Agents LLP, Jonathan Blyth at BBC Studios, and James Kay of Sheridans.
