Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment are attached to produce, while Colin Farrell, who will play the criminal in the upcoming The Batman feature, is reportedly to be approached to play Penguin in the series.
HBO Max did not comment on news of the Penguin drama but it would mark the latest expansion for the Batman franchise, joining DC Comics universe series including Madame X.
There is also the Peacemaker in the works, a spin-off from The Suicide Squad, as well as Greg Berlanti’s Green Lantern series. The Batman movie, meanwhile, is set to debut next year and a spin-off series revolving around Gotham City’s police department is also in the works.
