The Q India launches first original with crime series ‘Crime Aur Kanoon’
The Q India, Mumbai-based QYOU Media’s Hindi-language content brand, channel and VOD provider, is launching its first TV original, crime fiction series Crime Aur Kanoon.
The series, which will debut on The Q channel on DD FreeDish on 21 August, will be hosted by actor Kinshuk Vaidya and take viewers through different cases in episode.
The show aims to raise awareness about the “crimes being committed in society ranging from common day-to-day identifiable situations to more complex situations such as cybercrimes, online frauds, and much more.”
The Q’s CEO Simran Hoon commented: “At The Q, our endeavour is to keep our audience engaged with content across varied genres. With an entry into the crime fiction genre with our first TV original after The Q’s presence on DD FreeDish and other DTH and cable TV services, we aim to further strengthen our programming slate and consolidate our position.”
QYOU Media recently received $2m investment from Brand Capital International, the strategic investment arm of The Times Group.
Founded and created by industry veterans from Lionsgate, MTV, Disney and Sony, the company operates in Los Angeles, Mumbai and Toronto, producing and distributing content created by social media influencers, artists, and digital content creators.
In India, the company curates, produces and distributes “social media powered content” for TV networks and VOD for cable and satellite television, OTT and mobile platforms. In the US and Canada, it manages influencer marketing campaigns for film studios and household brands.
