Discovery+ engages ’90 Day Fiancé’ & Salisbury poisonings doc for UK streamer

Discovery+ has ordered a local version of Red Arrow Studios-owned format 90 Day Fiancé and a documentary about the Salisbury poisonings for its service in the UK.

90 Day Fiancé UK (12 x 60 minutes) is from Red Arrow’s CPL Productions and follows couples’ victories, trials and tribulations as they navigate their first 90 days together in the UK.

The cast each have less than three months from the moment their significant other lands in the UK to agree to get married, or else the non-Brits have to pack their bags and go home before their fiancé visa runs out.

The Poisonings, meanwhile, is a 1 x 90-minute doc that provides insights into how the UK town of Salisbury responded following the 2018 Novichok poisonings.

The show delves into the attack on Sergei Skripal, a former Russian spy, and the long-lasting impact the poisoning has had on the quintessentially English city of Salisbury. It is being produced by Banijay-owned DSP and will be available to watch on Discovery+ this winter.

The doc also covers the tragic death of local woman Dawn Sturgess, who died after spraying herself with a fake perfume bottle containing the Novichok that had been used to poison Skripal.
