‘Empire’ creator Lee Daniels extends pact with Disney’s 20th TV
Empire co-creator Lee Daniels has extended his overall deal with Disney’s 20th Television.
The agreement will see Daniels and his banner Lee Daniels Entertainment continue to create and develop IP for the Mouse House division.
He is currently working on a reboot of The Wonder Years for Disney-owned ABC, as well as being attached to the adaptation of Our Kind Of People for Fox.
Daniels’ slate also includes FX pilot The Spook Who Sat By The Door and Waiting To Exhale for ABC.
Dana Walden, Disney’s chairman of entertainment, said: “Lee Daniels is a master storyteller and a beloved partner to all of us at 20th Television. He leaves an indelible mark on every project he touches.”
Daniels first linked up with 20th Television in 2014 and extended that deal four years later.
