Attenborough doc tops Apple TV+ unscripted viewership

The David Attenborough nature documentary The Year Earth Changed has become the number one unscripted programme on the Apple TV+ streaming service.

The one-off special, which landed on the platform on 16 April ahead of Earth Day, has become the most watched documentary or docuseries in the US and many other regions worldwide.

The programme, which is narrated by veteran British nature broadcaster Attenborough, explores how animal behaviour changed in 2020 in light of empty streets, beaches and resorts during the global lockdown.

The Year Earth Changed is produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit, directed by Tom Beard, and executive produced by Mike Gunton and Alice Keens-Soper.
