Former BBC Worldwide & HBO exec Fred Medina dies in accident

Fred Medina, former BBC Worldwide, HBO and A+E Networks executive, has died at the age of 58, following a cycling accident.

Medina, who lived in Miami, fell to his death in an accident on his morning bike ride last Wednesday.

The exec was well-known in Latin American media and most recently served as principal of media marketing and consulting company Redline Advisors.

He also served as MD for Latin America at BBC Worldwide and held executive roles at Ole Communications. HBO Latin America and A+E Networks Latin America.

Medina leaves behind a wife and two children.

In a statement, Enrique R Martinez, chairman of the Latin American Council for Media Advertising commented: “Fred had an impressive track record in the world of television and media. We express our condolences to his family and friends.”
