Idris Elba’s Green Door enters joint venture with Kris Thykier’s Archery
Idris Elba’s production company Green Door Pictures has entered into a joint venture with Kris Thykier’s Archery Pictures.
The multi-year agreement will see the two UK-based companies work together on multiple TV and film projects.
Luther star Elba launched Green Door in 2013, with the studio behind Sky comedy In The Long Run and the upcoming Netflix feature Concrete Cowboy, with Elba starring in both.
The company is next set to produce the four-part BBC series Idris Elba’s Fight School in partnership with WorkerBee.
Archery, meanwhile, is currently working on Netflix fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga, Sky Atlantic’s Riviera and the war film Operation Mincemeat.
“I’m excited to begin a partnership with Kris on upcoming film and television projects and to start this collaboration with his team at Archery,” said Elba. “Building Green Door has been a steep learning curve and a thrilling ride. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved. Now I believe we are ready to take the next step in our growth as a company, and our alliance with Archery will facilitate and accelerate that process.”
“All of us at Archery look forward to working with Idris and his colleagues on developing new projects that build on his talents as well as helping underpin his company’s goals,” said Thykier.
