ITV’s Paul Moore named chair of Creative Diversity Network
The Creative Diversity Network (CDN), which aims to increase diversity on and off screen within the UK’s television industry, has named ITV exec Paul Moore as its new chair.
Moore, who is ITV Group communications & corporate affairs director, will take on the role from January 2021 and succeeds ViacomCBS exec Maria Kyriacou, who is stepping down.
She remain as a CDN board member, with her exit coming as ViacomCBS’s two-year tenure of the CDN comes to an end.
Moore said: “As chair of CDN, I want to help support all of our members – and the wider television production and broadcasting industry – to ensure diversity and inclusion is at the heart of our businesses. Mirroring the diversity of the UK and drawing on the widest possible talent pool will ensure we all create shows which engage, entertain and inform our audiences as we both reflect and shape the world we live in.”
Deborah Williams, executive director of CDN, added: “ITV has been instrumental in shaping CDN’s role and activities since its inception and I’m delighted that Paul will be taking over as chair to continue our ambitious programme of activities, starting with our fourth Annual Diamond report early next year, alongside our ongoing Doubling Disability initiative.
“I’d also like to thank Maria for her support as chair, and particularly through this incredibly difficult year.”
