NATPE moves Miami online, unveils news, diversity & sports events
NATPE is moving its Miami-based event in January online and has unveiled new events exploring diversity, news and sports.
NATPE Virtual Miami will be a fully digital event that will again use the organisation’s online platform, which was deployed earlier this year for NATPE Streaming Plus and NATPE Budapest International.
The conference side of the event – which normally takes place at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami – will run 19-22 January and will feature sessions that explore key themes, such as production trends, revenue generation, audience insights and content acquisition and distribution developments.
The marketplace will have extended opening from 19-29 January, with more details to be announced in the coming months.
The organisation is also launching NATPE Segregation, Segmentation & Storytelling, which will run 16 February and is designed to explore the role of Black talent, writers, showrunners, producers and directors, and the impact of their work on TV audiences and advertisers.
Also new to the slate is NATPE Sports, which will run 23 March and dives into the production of live sports content for TV, and NATPE News, which takes place 7 April. This one-day event will explore insights from the upcoming US presidential election that takes place next week and will highlight best-practices.
“True to our mission to provide connections, business intelligence and new opportunities, NATPE is facing head-on the new reality by launching NATPE Virtual Miami, the first and largest content event of the year,” said president & CEO JP Bommel. “This is a people’s business and until we can get together in-person, and we will, our plans are to continue to pivot and produce a compelling and engaging virtual series of events to serve our members and the expanded content community.”
