BritBox UK summons Viaplay drama ‘Cold Courage’
BritBox UK has acquired Viaplay and Lionsgate’s political drama Cold Courage.
The eight-part crime drama series is based on the best-selling Studio books by Pekka Hiltunen, which were adapted for the screen by David Joss Buckley (Hinterland) and Brendan Foley (The Riddle). It will be available exclusively on the streamer from 3 September.
The series is produced by Markku Flink and Pauli Pentti, and directed by Agenta Fagerstrom-Olsson and Kadir Ferati Balci. Fredrik Ljungberg, Jon Petersson, Kjartan Por Pordarson, Cormac Fox, Tom Hameeuw, Peter De Maegd and Marc B. Lorber are attached as executive producers
Cold Courage follows two young Finnish women, Mari and Lia, who are drawn into a clandestine group dedicated to righting the wrongs of the powerful, influential and corrupt.
Sofia Pekkari (The Days The Flowers Bloom) and Pihla Viitala (Deadwind) star, alongside John Simm (Doctor Who), Caroline Goodall (The White Princess) and Arsher Ali (Line of Duty).
