The CW to adapt Stephen King’s ‘Revelations of Becka Paulson’
A new Stephen King adaptation is in the works at US network The CW, which has ordered a series based upon the horror writer’s short story The Revelations Of Becka Paulson.
The one-hour drama, with the working title of Revelations, is based upon King’s 1984 tale of a woman who accidentally shoots herself in the brain with a nail gun and is subsequently recruited by Jesus to prevent the apocalypse by proving that humanity is redeemable – starting with her hometown.
The adaptation will be produced by Warner Bros. Television and written by Maisie Culver, who will also executive produce alongside Katie Lovejoy.
This would not be the first screen version of The Revelations Of Becka Paulson, which was also adapted as an episode of The Outer Limits in 1997 and starred Catherine O’Hara as the titular Becka.
Stephen King’s works remain in popular demand for screen adaptation, with a series based upon Lisey’s Story headed to Apple, an adaptation of The Stand ordered by CBS All Access, a prequel to The Shining named Overlook in the works for HBO Max and Epix prepping a version of Jerusalem’s Lot.
